Richard Thelwall Maurice is perhaps one of the least known of the Australian explorers. A descendant of a wealthy pastoralist he self funded explorations throughout the Nullarbor Plain, The Great Victoria Desert and Central Australia at the turn of the 19th Century. His life was one of contrast, adventure and discovery.
